The SBA’s charter team the D.C. Legends conducted a Street Ball Expo at Georgetown’s Jelleff Boys and Girls Club in Washington, D.C. for approximately 100 children between the ages of 8-14. The D.C. Legends received help administering and hosting the expo from internationally known recording artist Justin Timberlake. The Street Ball Expo was presented by McDonalds who sponsored this special event which kicked off the McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” worldwide marketing campaign that launched in more than 100 countries last month.
During the SBA Street Ball Expo the D.C. Legends stressed the importance of basketball fundamentals while also going over the latest street ball moves and techniques. In addition, Justin Timberlake was the MC for a five-on-five, D.C. Legend inner-squad scrimmage, a slam dunk and a street ball free-style dribbling demonstration, and a shooting contest giving the children at the expo a chance to win SBA t-shirts.
The SBA and McDonalds gave the Washington D.C. Jelleff Boys and Girls Club a unique opportunity to witness the finest collection of professional street ball players with one of the biggest and popular musical/entertainment stars in the world. The Street Basketball Association has developed the SBA Street Ball Expo to further promote the amazing talents of the top street ball stars, while further educating and entertaining basketball fans and aspiring young athletes who have fallen in love with the sport of street ball.
