Although the SBA is introducing "Silk" for the first time on the website, Andre Poole from Baltimore has been doing his thing on the court for years.  Silky smooth is definitely the style of his game, being a legend in B-more, Silk played his high-school ball at Patterson where he was the first player ever to represent the school in the All City All-star Game; where Silk received MVP honors over former collegiate stars Shawnte Rogers (GW), Bootsy Thornton (St. Johns), Johnny Hemsley (Miami), and Rodney Elliot (Maryland).  After high school Silk attended Essex Community college where he averaged 20 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals a game.  Although highly recruited by many Division I schools while in Community College, Silk stopped pursuing a college education to help support his family.

As more and more street ball exhibitions where being played and the different inner city leagues in Baltimore stayed intense, Silk continued to shine on the court.  No matter if New York City Playground Legends came to town or Silk took a visit to the Nation's capitol to play the top players from D.C., Silk would be the one to out play everyone on the court and have the crowd in awe.  His amazing dribbling skills and creativity, combined with his quickness and tremendous scoring abilities allowed him to dominate games.  In a game this past summer with NBA players Steve Francis, Sam Cassell, and Nick Van Exel to name a few, Silk scorched everybody going for the game high 39.  In addition, Silk had the opportunity to display his ridiculously quick handles and his tremendous scoring ability on the AND 1 Tour averaging over 25 points a game against the AND 1 Squad.

Most recently, Silk has been featured in a number of SBA Show games playing with the SBA All-stars and the Baltimore City Blazers.  An Epic street ball showdown occurred when Silk and the Bone Collector were matched up against each other playing full court one-on-one at the end of SBA All-stars versus Baltimore City Blazers Show event.  Silk further solidified his reputation as being one of the top street ball players in the world taking Bone on during one of the hottest on court street ball battles ever seen.   Silk scored, peeled of his jersey, got in his defensive position under his basket and was ready to try to stop Bone.  Bone then ripped off his jersey and headed back down the court just the two of them playing full-court.  Bone hit Silk with his patented hands-up hesitation right to left cross-over?with fans and players in astonishment.  The two went back in forth for nearly ten minutes righting a new chapter in the history of street ball. 

Silk has been featured on MTV competing against White Chocolate on Magic Johnson's "Who's Got Game" television show.  In addition, Silk has received ink in various issues of Slam Magazine, as Silk was spotlighted as one of the current premiere street ball legends in the country.  After evaluating some of the top guards in the business, Silk is indeed one of the best.  Like most ball players, Silk believes he belongs in the League; in his quest, Silk has just competed in an international overseas exposure tournament in New York where scouts were extremely high on his play.  Until Silk gets his call to play professionally you will find him focused, with his eye on the prize working hard to stay sharp?
