50 Greatest Streetballers of All Time

Greg “Killer Cross” Jones 6’2, (akaThe Wizard), West Virginia University

image

A Washington, D.C. native who shared the backcourt with Houston Rocket's Moochie Norris at Cardoza High School went on to play college ball at West Virginia University where he was known as "The Microwave”.  Greg has "lit up" the NBDL, USBL and ABA over the past few years with a career average of 23 ppg.  He was featured in ESPN the Magazine and The Dime Magazine as being the originator of the "cross-over" and as the person who introduced it to Allen Iverson when he came to Georgetown (DC). Greg is simply: "The Best 1-on-1 Player in the World".

Greg was MVP of the 2004 Nike Pro City League where he averaged over 40 points and scored 51 points in the Championship game. He won the MVP award over Steve Francis, Moochie Norris, Jerome Williams, Joe Forte, Kevin Lyde and many other NBA players.  This summer, Greg was given the nickname, the Wizard from Rucker Park while playing for The Source magazine. One of the best combo guards to ever come from DC, Greg "Killer Cross" is an explosive scorer with ridiculous range on his jumper. Greg is fundamentally sound with his triple threat ability and great understanding of spacing and execution of the pick and roll. He is simply "The Best Basketball Player not on an NBA Roster."  Currently, Greg Jones is a featured player on Hoops TV and NBA TV playing at the EBC Rucker League with Fat Joe’s Terror Squad.
