Hugh “Baby Shaq” Jones, aka The Rawkus, Wins the Nike Battle Grounds 1-1 Competition During All-star Weekend

Baby Shaq dominated all competitors in the steel cage as he was crowned the best 1-on-1 street ball player at the Nike Battle Grounds, NBA All-star Weekend in Atlanta this past February. As the first of 6 Nike Battle Ground competitions for 2003, Nike flew in 32 of some of the top street ball players in the country to compete for the King of Country. Baby Shaq physically wore down his opponents with his suffocating defense and explosive offensive abilities. Inside and outside Baby Shaq had his way with the jump-shot, the back down in the paint, and with his remarkably quick first step to the hole, with Baby Shaq finishing with a highlight dunk. When Baby Shaq was not putting on a clinic with his offense he was throwing shots right back to his opponent blocking nearly 6 shots a game.

Hugh Jones has one of the most physically gifted bodies and athleticism ever displayed on a 6'3 guard. Add a 50-inch vertical with his strength, ball-handling, quickness, and shooting and you have a "Baby Shaq"; someone who dominates his opponents like Shaquille O'Neal. Hugh can play any position due to his size and agility. At 23 years old, he is one of the best dunkers and 1-on-1 players in the world. Hugh is indeed a "Human Highlight" film and at any given moment will posterize his opponent or in a game, the whole defending team!!!

Baby Shaq will be competing for the Nike Battle Grounds 1-on-1 King of Kings competition in New York City on August 9th, 2003 challenging the other 7 winners of the Battle Grounds Tour. Winners from Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, Philadelphia, New York, and Atlanta will fight it out in the steel cage to see who is the best 1-on-1 player in the Nike Battle Grounds Tour Competition. The King of Kings will receive a one year endorsement contract, a Nike billboard, a Battle Grounds Medallion and Crown, and a cash prize.
